Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Engineer

This person will maintain and manage our entire BC platform in-house. Responsibilities you’ll have as a Business Central Engineer:

  • Lead, design, and develop new ways to improve application and process flows
  • Document workflows and programming changes
  • Collaborate with business line managers on pain points and potential improvements
  • Continued education and training for Business Central, PowerBI, Power Automate, and related technologies

Functional BC User Requirements:

  • Maintain the functionality, performance, security, and overall management of Dynamics Business Central in-house
  • Understand the linkages between Business Central, D365 Sales (CRM), PowerBI, and ConnectWise.
  • To be a resource for questions on BC processes and procedures.
  • To help document said processes into a Microage knowledge base.
  • Developer Requirements
  • Design, develop, and implement new Business Central Projects and roadmaps leveraging Power Automate.
  • Capture the requirements and create the scope of work for desired changes.
  • Develop custom extensions using the AL programming language.
  • To be able to utilize .net code to reflect other business requirements and initiatives.
  • Power Platform Requirements:
  • Design and develop complex Power Automate workflows connecting to a variety of endpoints, including Business Central, D365 Sales (CRM), PowerBI, and ConnectWise
  • Integrate 3rd party applications and connection via REST/XML APIs, including but not limited to HubSpot, Manage (ConnectWise), and a variety of other vendor and customer endpoints
  • Troubleshoot errors and perform regular maintenance on the power platform processes
  • Power BI familiarity, along with any Jet Reporting experience
  • Continuous improvement of processes related to SSRS, PowerBI, Jet, and Data Lakes
  • Manage the performance, updates, security, backups, and access for all related SQL Servers, databases, and data lakes

The knowledge, skills, and abilities required to be successful:

  • 5+ years developing Dynamics 365 Business Central (AL Code) experience required
  • 7+ years administering SQL Server
  • 3+ years working with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, PowerBI, Power Apps)
  • SharePoint Online developer experience is nice to have

Technical qualifications required:

  • Proficiency coding in AL, .NET
  • Coding ability in JavaScript, Java, and/or Python a plus
  • Ability to understand and write: JSON, XML, and HTML
  • Expert proficiency in creating custom and complex Power Automate workflows
  • Analytical approach to automating manual processes and tasks
  • Documenting and presenting project roadmaps
  • Managing multiple fast-paced initiatives and projects
  • A strong independent work ethic
  • A client-service mentality
