Services Engineer II – Network

Responsibilities you’ll have as a Services Engineer II – Network:

  • Assist with support and configuration of MSP client network equipment
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of documentation relating to client environments
  • Utilize network monitoring tools and alerting for troubleshooting
  • Assist with, or lead professional services network projects
  • Effectively work with multiple external clients on various projects, systems, and demands
  • Handle escalations from and provide guidance to the Services Engineer I team
  • Drive tickets to closure meeting SLAs and client expectations
  • Perform on-call support duties on a rotating basis

The knowledge, skills, and abilities required to be successful:

  • 3+ years experience with network router/switch/firewall setup, implementation, and configuration required
  • 1+ year of MSP, or similar client-facing industry, experience is highly preferred
  • The ability to adapt and learn quickly
  • Ability and desire to develop relationships with clients and internal staff
  • Follow processes and identify possible improvements
  • Effective time management skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Technical qualifications required:

Experience troubleshooting and configuring firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless:

  • SonicWALL – strongly preferred
  • Fortigate – strongly preferred
  • Meraki – strongly preferred
  • Ruckus – great to have
  • Ubiquiti – great to have
  • HP – great to have
  • Cisco – great to have

Knowledge and experience with advanced networking principles:

  • VLAN Design and Theory
  • Routing Design and Theory
  • OSI Model
