Senior Accountant

Remote: This is a remote (work-from-home) position; however, candidates must reside in the Phoenix area and may be required to work onsite occasionally.

Position Summary

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the monthly close process, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives. This role is ideal for a self-starter who enjoys digging into data, automating workflows, and leveraging technology to create efficiencies across the accounting function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including but not limited to journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Preparation of internal financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and various supporting excel spreadsheets.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely reporting.
  • Drive automation and continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting function, including process mapping and system optimization.
  • Maintain and improve internal controls in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Preparation of audit schedules and provide support for audits, income tax accruals/payments, and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Serve as a go-to resource for questions and support related to financial systems, including ERP, expense management, and reporting tools.
  • Assist with ad hoc financial analysis, special projects and other tasks, as directed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience with GL accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting; experience with ASC 606 a plus
  • Strong proficiency with Excel and data tools (Power Query, Power BI, Power Automate, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience with ERP systems (Dynamics 365 Business Central preferred)
  • Analytical mindset with a passion for process improvement and leveraging technology to streamline workflows.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
