Sr. Financial Analyst

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will play a crucial role in providing insightful financial analysis, strategic recommendations, and decision support to the organization’s leadership. You will be responsible for evaluating financial data, forecasting trends, and assisting in the development of financial strategies to drive the company’s growth and profitability. Preference will be given to candidates with an extensive working knowledge of SQL, Power BI, or other similar reporting software.

Responsibilities you’ll have as a Sr. Financial Analyst:

  • Financial Analysis:
    • Conduct in-depth financial analysis of the company’s performance, including revenue, expenses, and profitability.
    • Analyze historical and current financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential areas for improvement.
    • Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
    • Budgeting and Forecasting:
      • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and manage the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
      • Monitor actual financial performance against budget and forecast, explaining variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Reporting & Presentation:
    • Prepare and present financial reports, dashboards, and presentations to senior management and stakeholders.
    • Translate complex financial data into understandable insights and actionable recommendations.
    • Data Reporting Tools:
      • Utilize extensive working knowledge of SQL, Power BI, or other data reporting software to access and manipulate financial data effectively.
      • Develop and maintain reporting dashboards and automate data-driven processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
    • Identify financial risks and opportunities, and recommend strategies to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
    • Assist in assessing the financial impact of potential business initiatives and investments.
  • Cost Analysis:
    • Analyze cost structures and cost drivers to identify areas where cost efficiencies can be achieved.
    • Provide recommendations to optimize resource allocation and cost-saving measures.
  • Financial Planning and Strategy:
    • Contribute to the development of the company’s financial strategies and long-term financial plans.
    • Assist in evaluating potential mergers, acquisitions, or other strategic initiatives from a financial perspective, when applicable.
  • Compliance and Auditing:
    • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
    • Support external audits and internal control assessments as needed.
  • Ad Hoc Analysis:
    • Perform ad hoc financial analysis and projects as requested by management.

The knowledge, skills, and abilities you need to be successful:

  • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in a corporate finance or similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and financial software (e.g., Excel, ERP systems).
  • Extensive working knowledge of SQL, Power BI, or other data reporting software.
  • Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and accounting principles.
  • Familiarity with the VAR and MSP industry is a plus.
