When I reflect on MicroAge being named a Phoenix Business Journal Best Places to Work for the 10th time, it fills me with immense pride and gratitude. This honor isn’t just a badge of recognition—it’s a testament to the workplace culture we’ve built together and our shared commitment to making MicroAge a workplace where people genuinely thrive.

So, what does it take to create an award-winning workplace for 10 years? It’s a combination of intentionality, innovation, and an unwavering focus on people. Here are some of the ways we’ve been able to maintain and grow our standing as one of the best places to work year after year.

Fostering Connection in a Hybrid World

Workplace culture thrives on connection, and in today’s hybrid environment, it’s more important than ever to foster meaningful relationships across teams. At MicroAge, we’ve embraced this challenge with initiatives like our weekly “Stay Apart Together” sessions. Every Monday through Thursday at 12:45, associates join a 15-minute remote gathering filled with fun, camaraderie, and prizes. These moments keep our teams engaged and remind us that even while apart, we’re never alone.

Our “Together Meetings” also play a big role in building connections. These monthly all-company gatherings—offered both in person and remotely—highlight team achievements, celebrate milestones, and include unique, engaging touches like the Spokespet of the Month to add a personal and playful element to our celebrations. They are an opportunity to come together, share a laugh, and appreciate the incredible people who make up our team.

Reasons to Want to Be Here

We’ve never mandated our associates to return to the office. Instead, we focus on giving them compelling reasons to want to be here. From town halls and monthly sales meetings to team-building events and community volunteer opportunities, we prioritize meaningful connections and shared experiences. Our holiday parties and national meetings are more than just events—they’re moments that bring our team closer together and reinforce the sense of belonging that defines MicroAge.

A Workplace Culture of Openness and Innovation

At MicroAge, everyone’s voice matters. We’ve cultivated an open-door policy that encourages associates to share ideas, suggest improvements, and contribute to the evolution of our company. This workplace culture of openness fosters innovation and ensures every associate feels valued and heard.

For example, our team members know they can bring new ideas to their managers, and many of those ideas have transformed into impactful initiatives. By creating an environment where innovation is not just welcomed—but celebrated—we empower our associates to shape MicroAge’s future.

Investing in Growth and Well-Being

Professional growth and personal well-being are at the core of our workplace culture. We offer robust training and development opportunities, giving our associates the tools they need to excel in their roles and grow their careers. Beyond professional development, we also prioritize work-life balance and provide unique perks and incentives that make MicroAge a rewarding place to work.

Whether it’s recognizing exceptional performance through our monthly Top Gun and Above and Beyond awards or providing avenues for personal growth and career development, we aim to support our associates in reaching their goals and aspirations. By fostering a workplace culture where individuals feel empowered to innovate, take initiative, and grow professionally, we strengthen not only their success but the success of MicroAge as a whole.

Making a Positive Impact Beyond the Workplace

At MicroAge, our commitment extends far beyond the walls of our offices. We believe in making a meaningful impact not only in the lives of our associates but also in our larger communities. Through quarterly ActTogether initiatives, our compassion-in-action program, we engage in volunteering and charitable giving to support causes close to our hearts.

From participating in food drives and donating supplies to schools in need to organizing team-building volunteer events, we incorporate volunteer and community service initiatives throughout the year to bring our associates together to make a difference. An example is our ‘Meet the Team’ Backpack event, which was held during our 2024 MicroAge CONNECT conference. At this event, associates filled backpacks for local school children in need, creating meaningful opportunities to give back while strengthening bonds between associates and different teams within the company.

These initiatives don’t just benefit our communities—they also strengthen our team’s sense of purpose and camaraderie. By giving back together, we create shared memories and reinforce the values that make MicroAge an exceptional place to work.

A Team Effort

Ultimately, MicroAge’s recognition as a Best Places to Work reflects our incredible team. Each associate contributes to the workplace culture we’ve built, and each associate has a role in making MicroAge a place where people love to work. It’s their dedication, passion, and collaboration that have made this achievement possible.

As we celebrate this milestone, we remain focused on the future. Creating a thriving workplace culture isn’t a one-time effort; it’s an ongoing commitment. At MicroAge, we’re more committed than ever to empowering our associates, fostering connection, and continuing to build a workplace where everyone can thrive.

Thank you to the MicroAge team for making this recognition possible. Here’s to many more years of excellence and growth together.
