1. What brought you to MicroAge/why did you want to work here?

I’ve been at MicroAge for eight years. I started an internship here during college and the more I understood about how we can use technology to solve business problems I was interested in starting my career at MicroAge. I was most drawn to developing relationships to help clients solve problems and make their end users’ lives better.

2. Tell us about what you do every day in your role:

My primary role is actively reaching out to my client base to help them determine the right hardware, software, and services to support their business goals. When they need support for the services and hardware we’ve identified together, we do a services engagement to ensure the desired outcome. I also spend time developing relationships with key partners to provide additional value to my clients in leveraging their hardware and software.

3. What do you love about working at MicroAge?

I love that this is my business and I can build it in my own way, and have the capital and technical support from MicroAge to achieve great things for my client base.

4. We know every team member makes more possible. How are you making a difference?

I truly care about my clients and want them to be successful in their positions at their organizations. Their success is my success. I’m focused on having the clients I have for the rest of my life and looking at every relationship as long term. I also look at internal relationships with colleagues the same way to provide as much value as I can to those around me. The team members at MicroAge support me in making the business relationships I have successful.

5. Which of our MicroAge values resonate with you most and why? (Add value to everything we do  •  Respect our relationships  •  Act with integrity • Make things happen  •  Do it right the first time •  Have fun!)

Respect our relationships resonates the most. As the old adage goes, “It isn’t what you know, but who you know.” This has been the most important truth for me. I have been blessed to know some of the greatest IT professionals in the industry to help my clients succeed and get what they need to do their jobs.

6. What is your best MicroAge memory?

When I first started at MicroAge and sat down at my desk as an intern, the marketing vice president said to me: “here’s your phone, here’s some paper, here’s your computer. Now get to work.”

I sat there frozen. Then he asked me, “Do you know what we do here?”

I replied, “no, I don’t.”

“Read our website and report to me when you understand what we do here.” he said.

I spent the next two days reading the website trying to figure out what MicroAge does.

7. Who inspires you and why?

Most people inspire me in different ways. What inspires me most is when I see someone have the courage to genuinely become the best person they can be and not be afraid to be themselves.

8. What do you enjoy doing most outside of the office?

I enjoy spending time with my wife, listening to music, staying active, and working on recording songs.

9. What’s the best advice you’ve been given in your career?

The best advice I was given is to look at yourself like a startup company. Continue to invest in yourself, continue to evolve, failure is a great teacher, and never give up.
