This year marks MicroAge’s eight-year streak on the annual Phoenix Business Journal list.
MicroAge is proud to announce recognition by the Phoenix Business Journal as one of 2021’s Best Places to Work in the Valley. MicroAge has landed on the BPTW every year the company was nominated—making this year’s recognition the organization’s eighth time hailed as one of the Valley’s best places to work among mid-sized organizations.
Every year, the Phoenix Business Journal ranks local companies based on results from a blind third-party survey to employees.
MicroAge’s Award-Winning Organizational Culture
Upwards of two years, organizations everywhere have had to pivot in order to build and maintain a thriving company culture. That looks different everywhere. At MicroAge specifically, it’s meant virtual awards ceremonies complete with dance competitions, virtual wine tastings and cooking classes with real ingredients delivered to employees, and a daily Stay-Apart-Together Teams call with rotating themes like comedy skits, regular Kahoot trivia, cooking tutorials, sports updates, live music, and show-and-tells with pets and family members, so colleagues across the country can reconnect over their lunch hours.
A Some Good News segment inspired by John Krasinki’s web series covers employee wins from photos snapped of newborns to candid videos from marathon runs to first-time home owning-associates posed with larger-than-life smiles outside of their new digs.
Employee appreciation is a huge initiative with raffles, prizes, and recognition, including the organization’s now reprised Circle of Excellence trip to Maui this month and other awards including Employee of the Quarter. Other perks include regular virtual lunches and outreach calls first-hand from the MicroAge CEO, Rob Zack, and other members of the leadership team to see how associates are doing in their day-to-day lives.
Meanwhile, MicroAge’s Act Together program headed by Vice President of Sales, Tracey Hayes, has kept its associates continually engaged and giving back to the local and national community in a meaningful way. Most recently, MicroAge associates have been contributing to Soldier’s Best Friend, a local Arizona nonprofit that partners trained rescue dogs with combat veterans. MicroAgers have been donating directly to the organization and purchasing off the nonprofit’s Amazon wishlist of items.
The ActTogether Program is just one of the organization’s engagement programs, others include FitTogether, encouraging associates to stay fit and rewarding them with gym reimbursement and raffle prizes, and GetTogether, aimed at in-person events with food trucks and entertainment for MicroAge associates and their family members.
