Job Summary:

Develop new Government business using existing contract vehicles and obtain additional contract vehicles available through partners. Lead the Government/SLED sales team and manage sales growth quotas. The ideal candidate has led an organization through aggressive sales growth successfully with a similar focus to MicroAge’s capabilities and focus.

Responsibilities you’ll have as our Director of Government Sales:

  • Lead the company’s business development, strategic planning development, and execution for Government/SLED sales
  • Develop, execute, and manage an aggressive growth strategy for Government/SLED sales and marketing efforts through partnership and client intimacy
  • Develop a pipeline of qualified sales opportunities for MicroAge in alignment with MicroAge’s strategic plan, service practice areas, and sales goals
  • Continue to build relationships with federal agencies as well as partners in alignment with MicroAge
  • Identify price-to-win source data and perform price-to-win analysis
  • Guide proposal development and offering for MicroAge Government/SLED sales team
  • Partner with services, engineers, marketing, sales leaders, and other departments to achieve successful sales outcomes

The knowledge, skills, and abilities required to be successful:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience leading business development organizations successfully in government contracting
  • Experience in federal government contract sales lifecycle and knowledge of GWACs
  • A strong relationship with small and large system integrators in the federal government contracting area
  • Experience in federal government IT professional services needs, targeting agency decision-makers, and departmental forecasting for IT needs
  • Planning and organization, project management, and time management skills
  • Ability to close new business deals by coordinating requirements, developing and negotiating contracts, and integrating contract requirements with business operations
  • Ability to work on complex problems

Additional qualities that would be good for this role:

  • Knowledge of company products, markets, and technology
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Must possess advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • Strong analytical and financial skills
  • Must be comfortable in leading a company in startup mode
  • Must have the ability to travel
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
