Let’s face it. It’s 2021, and the new normal is now just normalFor the better part of a year, the majority of small to medium businesses and corporations across the enterprise—no matter where they are—have moved to a fully remote, connected workforce. Working from home has become a regular part of our work culture and our daily lives.

And the Zoom fatigue is still real. With the uninterrupted onslaught of video conferences and presentations, while maintaining productivity, many of us are feeling more isolated and drained by the end of the week (or day). Just ask Microsoft.

“At a time when people are conducting more virtual meetings than ever, our research has shown that many of us feel less connected since moving to remote work, and experience more fatigue during video meetings.”

Introducing Microsoft Teams Dynamic View

But there’s good news! Microsoft Teams is rolling out a new feature to make meeting visuals less busy and easier to focus on without feeling so draining. It’s called Dynamic View and it’s going to launch worldwide in March. The new feature improves meetings on the Teams desktop app which currently only displays either the presenter or participant in a small frame file viewing shared content and presentations. Dynamic View will increase the visibility of both slides and key speakers in meetings and events.

The new feature is designed with engagement in mind, automatically optimizing the size and display of shared content like PowerPoint slides on Teams meetings and events. Dynamic view enables attendees to view slides and the key presenter—side by side—in larger frames.

Dynamic view also highlights the current speaker with a frame so you can quickly know who’s talking as topics and speakers shift, and will highlight team members using the hand raised feature to bring up relevant topics or questions.

“Dynamic view automatically optimizes shared content and video participants in Teams meetings. New controls let you personalize the view to suit your preferences and needs, such as the ability to show shared content and specific participants side-by-side.”

Microsoft Teams Roadmap

So, what else is coming for Microsoft Teams meetings?

In February, before the new Dynamic View rolls out, Microsoft Teams is launching custom layouts and new shared scenes for Together Mode—fresh features they teased in September.

The new shared scenes for Together mode use AI (artificial intelligence) to recognize faces in the meetings and beam participants into a shared virtual room, whether that’s a conference room or a coffee shop.

You can catch a glimpse of some of these new features in Microsoft’s LinkedIn Video. Then you can go deeper with our Cloud experts to learn about other Microsoft Teams features you might not be aware of yet that can ignite higher levels of engagement and productivity across all of your teams.
